Mazes is a return to the classic sword and sorcery dungeon crawler with award-winning, yet delightfully simple modern rules. The first TTRPG to use the polymorph system, Mazes is easy to learn and teach, and ready to play without a lot of prep.
Designed for episodic play, Mazes is ideal for one-shots and conventions. It's a distillation and modernization of the classic Dungeon Delve, making it a perfect introduction for those new to roleplaying, as well a great excuse for grognards to get back into the dungeon!
Excellent solo, can’t wait to play it with friends that are in my D&D game who love storytelling. Pacific Rim an obvious influence, a fun piece of pulpy media but the storytelling here can lean far more somber which is excellent
While I haven't had the free time to try it yet, the concept is very interesting. Using any tarot deck, you turn the prophetic events of the cards into story events, and can play with a partner or against "yourself." I think it is wonderful in its writing.
The quality of this book for the price is great. I also love all the mechanics in the game. The artwork is gorgeous. Incredibly well written, just great all around no notes.
This is my first solo journaling game and I was really surprised at the direction the story took. I had an idea about what I believed my story was going to be. It took me in a whole different direction and I loved it. The gmae mechanics were surprising and add a tension I didn't expect. Really wonderful!
First of all I’m impressed with the extremely fast shipping! So great bc I was so eager to dive into this game. It’s hard to describe why I love it so much but the prompts are so thought provoking and they fuel my experience. After playing this game each session, I end up thinking about it so much it stays with me.
I heard about it from tabletop’s IG
As always, I received the book quickly and the checkout process was a breeze. Blades in the Dark itself is an amazingly rich world with a unique set of mechanics and ideas that make it incredibly fun to play with. You can dive into the crunchy rules as is or make it a lighter and more narrative experience, too. The fact that there are so many other games that use these rules now makes it a worthwhile investment to learn the philosophy behind the mechanics.
The Stygian Library is every bit as good as I hoped it would be.
I took it out foe a quick test as soon as it arrived. The tables gave me a scene and characters in that scene which were more than enough to get my creativity flowing. I am eager to run a game with this book—probably using Knave 2e.
