Vendor Partner Policy
Vendor Partner Policy
An equal marketplace, with every expectation laid out before we begin. Every creator we work with plays by the same rules.
Welcome to the Tabletop Bookshelf marketplace. We built this program on a simple principle: every partner operates under the same terms, and those terms are laid out clearly before we begin.
This isn't a pay-to-play platform where bigger vendors get better placement or hidden deals. It's an equal marketplace, and this page exists so that every creator and publisher we work with shares the exact same understanding of how pricing, shipping, assets, and promotions work here. Please read the terms in full before partnering with us.
1Wholesale Pricing
We expect wholesale pricing to be 50% of MSRP. This is the standard that keeps the marketplace fair and lets us price your product at or near its MSRP on our shop.
If your wholesale price is higher than 50% of MSRP, we will still carry your product, but the retail price on our shop will be set above your MSRP to reflect the additional cost we're absorbing. We want to be transparent that a shop price above MSRP can reduce demand, since customers often compare against the MSRP they see elsewhere. We're not trying to penalize anyone; we simply can't sell at a loss, and we'd rather tell you this up front than surprise you later.
2Shipping
We ask that vendor partners either provide free shipping to us or cover the cost of shipping on wholesale orders. Please let us know if there is a minimum threshold that is normally required for this. For books, USPS Media Mail is often the most cost-effective method for delivery.
If Tabletop Bookshelf is ever required to pay for shipping, import/customs fees, brokerage fees, or any other cost associated with getting your product to us, those costs will be added to the product's final price in our shop. As with pricing above MSRP, this can affect demand, so it's in both of our interests to keep landed costs low.
3Digital Companion PDF
If your product is a physical item that includes a digital edition, we ask that you provide a PDF that we can distribute to customers who purchase the physical copy from us.
To protect your work, each purchase includes a limit of 5 downloads of that PDF. This cap is a guardrail against abuse and sharing, not a limit on legitimate use.
4Listing & Promotional Assets
To create your product listing and promote it effectively, we ask that you provide a link to a set of images and text we can use for the shop listing and for marketing. This should include product photos or cover art, a description, and any copy you'd like represented. Sending us clean, approved assets ensures your product is represented the way you intend.
5Advertised Pricing & Promotions (MAP)
We run bundle deals, sales, and promotions, and we want to respect your pricing preferences while we do it. Before we list your product, please tell us:
- Do you have a MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) policy? If so, share the details and we'll honor it.
- Do you approve of your product being advertised below MSRP as part of our promotions, bundles, or sales? If not, we'll keep it at MSRP.
6Content Standards
No AI-generated content.
Tabletop Bookshelf has a policy against selling AI-generated content. All products we carry must be human-created. This includes writing, art, layout, and any other creative work in your product. By partnering with us, you confirm that your product does not contain AI-generated content. We curate for craft and human authorship, and this standard is part of what our customers trust us for.
No discriminatory content.
We do not accept material containing discriminatory themes or tropes. This includes content that demeans or stereotypes people on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, or similar characteristics. Our marketplace and community are built to be welcoming, and we curate accordingly.
Acknowledgment
By partnering with Tabletop Bookshelf, you confirm that you've read and understood these terms and that they apply equally to all vendors in our marketplace. Questions or exceptions can be discussed before you sign on. We'd rather resolve them now than have a mismatch in expectations later.
