KINLESS is a standalone solo Viking adventure compatible with the Mörk Borg RPG, inspired by the incredible music of Swedish melodic death metal band Amon Amarth.

You are a Viking forced to defend your family against a predatory ruler, only to be driven from your home, friends, and family... left to die alone in the cold night. KINLESS is your story. You make the choices. You choose the path. Will you seek revenge, find redemption, or die horribly... crushed in the talons of fate's cruel grip? Every choice you make matters and the gods are watching.

The land of KINLESS is harsh and cold. Strange things prowl the woods. There are no second chances. Every choice can lead to your death. You will fight epic battles and face horrors in the night, but you may also make allies who can aid you in your journey.

Will you take the long way over the mountain pass and face starvation, death from exposure, and unknown horrors? Or will you attempt a shortcut across the lake, home to a monstrous serpent, risking almost certain death?

You will confront the darkest, most dangerous creatures of Norse mythology:  Níðhöggr (dragons), Draugr (undead), Jotnar (trolls), Jotun (frost giant), huge serpents, Vargr (wargs) and much more.

You will meet people in your journey. Not all will be your enemy. Some may even be helpful to your cause for a price, but is it one you are willing to pay?

Mechanics

KINLESS is a solo adventure. It can be played with or without a game master. There are no secrets hiding behind a screen, only things you do not yet know. The land in KINLESS does not change, but the things that live upon it are seldom found in the same place twice. 

You begin the game in the forest outside your village. Your world is a harsh and unforgiving one. Your only possessions are your Viking axe, your shield, some food, and the clothes on your back.  You must find food and shelter quickly if you wish to survive. You may die from old wounds... or new ones, but never old age. 

We include enough information to play KINLESS without owning the Mörk Borg rules, but having them can always prove helpful.
