Bite Sized Capers
Made to capture cozy, silly, and exciting mystery novel vibes, Mystery Snacks gives you all the ingredients needed to set up and solve a satisfying enigma with your tabletop RPG group!
The system-agnostic all-ages friendly whodunits found here are arranged like a recipe book, clearly listing clues and key story elements like meal prepped adventures to minimize your set up and let you focus on facilitating your players cooking up a solution.
The 24 page zine includes:
- 8 pre-made mysteries
- optional system designed for mystery-solving shenanigans
The pre-made mysteries are....
- Per Diem at the Museum, investigate missing museum items (and a snack stand raid)
- Dude, Where's My Broom?, retrace steps to solve a magical college campus conundrum
- Ostriches on the Loose, search for the truth in a series of farm abductions and cryptid sightings
- Wild Goose Chez, follow a trail of clues (and breadcrumbs) in a dispute between land developers and the community
- A Sharp Mind Needs a Light, assist a baker in oven repairs... and find out why a shady business is getting involved
- One Byte Too Many, find the missing Cyberplex star before it's too late! The show must go on!
- Green Zines and Ham, uncover the source of the cat-themed zines appearing in the library (and find out where the librarian's lunch keeps going)
- A Soup-er Suspicious Situation, help the mice find out who is sabotaging the annual soup festival before it's all cancelled!
In addition to the system-agnostic adventures, the book will include a rules-lite mystery-specific system based on Breathless, a 2-5 player system by Fari RPG that's used in 250+ TTRPGs. While the stories can be played on other systems, I wanted to provide an option for folks who would like to try something new or who are looking for mechanics that pair particularly well with sussing out secrets.
