The King In Yellow: Annotated Edition
Have You Found The Yellow Sign?
Robert W. Chambers' unearthly work has inspired millions of shivering readers since the death of the Gilded Age. This illustrated and annotated edition brings new potency to its stories of madness, love and terror.
Acclaimed artist Samuel Araya graces this edition of The King in Yellow with full-page paintings and unnerving sketches that evoke the weird romances of Robert Chambers. Researchers Kenneth Hite annotates every tale with his uniquely macabre erudition, insights that bring ever-deeper understanding of truths that only the mad or the hopeless would seek.
Find yourself drawn again to the Sign engraved in gold...
to the twin suns strangely setting...
to the tattered robes of the King in Yellow.
This work inspired Delta Green: Impossible Landscapes.

First thing is that this edition is printed with quality paper, and includes ALL of the short stories originally printed by Chambers. Many of the copies for sale online are only the first four.
Secondly, the annotations are very useful for helping to understand nuance and time specific references that apply to the late 20th century, but don't really register with contemporary readers.
And lastly, this version of existential horror is so unique for the genre despite being on of the very first. I cannot recommend this book enough to anyone who enjoys unsettling journeys into madness.
