Wanderhome
A cozy roleplaying game of seasons and travel
Wanderhome is a pastoral fantasy role-playing game about traveling animal-folk, the world they inhabit, and the way the seasons change. It is a game filled with grassy fields, mossy shrines, herds of chubby bumblebees, opossums in sundresses, salamanders with suspenders, starry night skies, and the most beautiful sunsets you can imagine.
You might be a tamarin who dances with small and forgotten gods, a leporine mail carrier who relies on moths to get packages where they belong, a little lizard with a big heart and a mysterious past, or a near-endless number of other thrilling possibilities. No matter what, we’re always travelers—animal-folk who go from village to village and get to see the length and breadth of all the world of Hæth. The seasons will change as we play, and we will change with them.

I fell upon Wanderhome during a difficult evening, I was just given news of a family member who had passed. I felt a quietness of sadness and loss but also joy for the nostalgia of memories. I knew I was going to be running a game for Tabletop Event coming up and typed “cozy table top rpg” into an internet search… after a few dozing articles I found Wanderhome.
Reading the description of the game I immediately was whisked into what the possibilities of a shared true story game crafted and told through collaborative imagination of a court of players. That evening I lost sleep scouring over the pdf, both the free to play and full game. I knew as so as I could I would head to TTBS to get physical game. Like having a book you can hold and feel, Wanderhome offers a joyful cry and intangibility of journey to venture off with strangers in a world that you feel you know. I recommend this game to anyone and table of friends who wish to try their am hands at immersing into the world of Hæth, which is fully the journey to be shared; smiled; tearing up.
Enough circumlocution, this game is a wonderful break from rules complicated games in which a single game master does most the work, this a great introductory way for hopeful GMs, trained performers, dreamers, and those of any age; gender; faith; and ability to enjoy with friends. Try it, love it and get lost with your companions as you Wanderhome.
