It is a bit... smaller? than I anticipated, but that's a GOOD thing, because it fits PERFECTLY into the pockets of my coat.
It is elegant, with a vintage feel and look to it. The paper is of excellent quality, and absorbs the ink of my fountain pen perfectly.
And it has a ribbon book mark which is a nice touch.

A great edition of a great game.
Last Sabbath is great for those who like rules light RPGs and are comfortable with narrative play. If you RPG for the tactical combat, this is not your game. However, if you like building a story with friends, this is it!
Tarot cards or other divination tools can provide helpful prompts for those less comfortable with narration on the fly. You can buy the tarot cards designed for the game which are gorgeous and thematic. They also sell "adventures" that provide a bit more structure for story telling for those that want it.
I highly recommend Last Sabbath.
I play the full gamut of RPGs, heavy to no crunch. Agon hits that perfect spot of a very simple game that allows you to focus on a heroic arch for you and the rest of the crew. If you like tactical combat, this is not the RPG for you. However, if you like epic tales and want to be part of one, this is THE game for you!
Much like its companion piece, I have owned the pdf of Gardens for awhile, and it is the last adventure I got to play with a friend who has since passed. Now that I can get a proper hardback copy, I figured why not?
I've had the pdf for several years now, but once I realized a fancy print copy was available, I had to add it to my shelves. It both looks good and is fun to run. Win-win!
The most amazing deck of cards I have ever seen. Truly gorgeous and full of humor.
Fantastic book. My only issue is that some of the artwork and font combinations make some pages extremely difficult to read.
